Respite Care
Respite care is short-term care and supervision provided when the primary caregiver is absent or in need of temporary relief. The goal of this support service is to provide a break for the primary caregiver, while maintaining the social, emotional and physical needs of the individual.
We offer two different types of respite care:
Crisis Respite: REM West Virginia’s Crisis Respite homes provide a temporary residence for individuals who are experiencing behavioral, medical or environmental-related crisis. These homes are located in Keyser, Bridgeport and St. Mary’s.
In-home Respite: We also provide in-home care to individuals living in in a family home, to allow primary caregiver relief.
